# They Don't Agree About **You**

Two AI tools got the same question about you. They named different companies.

In [July a research team](https://www.tryprofound.com/blog/claude-and-claude-code-are-distinct-answer-engines) put that to the test. 1,724 prompts, 24,135 answers, run through Claude and through Claude Code. Same company. 

Claude searched the live web in 93% of its answers. Claude Code searched in 13%.

Across all those responses, the two share only one in five of the brands they name. Whatever you did to get named in one of them, you did not do for the other.

They don't even read the same pages. Nearly three-quarters of the pages Claude Code visited were documentation, information and pricing. For Claude, that was 5%. Sixty percent of Claude's visits went to robots.txt, sitemaps and homepages. For Claude Code, 4%.

So they were never looking for the same thing about you.

"How do we show up in AI" is the easy question, and your mind offered it because the hard version has a plural in it, no clean answer, and nothing you could go and fix on Monday morning. Which one reaches your buyer depends on where they were sitting when the question occurred to them. Someone researching in a chat window and someone asking from inside the tool they work in got handed two different companies.

You can't write for all of them. You can stop assuming there is one of them.

Open your documentation and your homepage side by side. Write one sentence from each saying what this company does.
